Since it looks like the Mets will not be going after Manny Ramirez, Abreu deserves to be looked at. His numbers are:
G | AB | R | H | 2B | 3B | HR | RBI | TB | BB | SO | SB | CS | OBP | SLG | AVG | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
2008 | 156 | 609 | 100 | 180 | 39 | 4 | 20 | 100 | 287 | 73 | 109 | 22 | 11 | .371 | .471 | .296 |
Career | 1799 | 6490 | 1174 | 1946 | 454 | 53 | 241 | 1084 | 3229 | 1160 | 1405 | 318 | 103 | .405 | .498 | .300 |
The lineup would improve greatly with him in it I believe. I know that he is a left handed batter and we would benefit more with a right handed batter but Abreu can still hit and drive in runs. He will only be 35 this March.
