MLB Insider Jon Heyman is reporting that the Mets have offered Oliver Perez a new contract. No word on how much or how many years the offer is but the Mets expect an answer from Ollie in the next few days.
For the last few months now I had been pushing for Oliver Perez over Ben Sheets but now I would rather have Sheets on the team. Sheets proved last year that when he stays healthy he can dominate on the mound. Ollie has always been very inconsistent to say the least. He'll pitch a great game against the Yankees and then throw 100 pitches by the 4th inning against a team like the Pirates.
