Mets avoid arbitration with Church and Pagan

Sorry for no posts recently, blogger was having a problem uploading blogs but everything is all fixed right now.

It's been a slow news week for the Mets, I guess you can say it's been a very slow off season for the Mets in general.

Yesterday the Mets avoided arbitration with outfielders Ryan Church and Angel Pagan.

Ryan Church agreed to a 2.8 million dollar deal for one year. This is a pay raise of $800, 000 from last year.

Angel Pagan agree to a one year contract as well worth $575,000. This is a pay raise of $173, 500.

Both outfielders broke out strong last year, Pagan being a real surprise but both suffered injuries, Church with his concussions and Pagan had a tear in his left shoulder.

Pagan if healthy could be a nice bat off the bench, can play anywhere in the outfield and will help our guys down the stretch.

Church was having an MVP type season until that concussion in Atlanta. I don't know exactly what to expect from him as I don't think he will be like he was in the beginning of last season but I know he is better than the way he played at the end of last season.

The Mets still have 2 players who are arbitration eligible in John Maine and RP Pedro Feliciano.
